We used a sample image of a crab and cropped it out of an image by using the magic wand tool to highlight and select it, judging by similar colours. This was slightly successful even though I had to clone part of the claw to add some more onto it, as a bit of it got cut out.
I then added in a coloured background and used the grain effect to give it a rougher texture.
The lemon was then added into the image by the elliptical marquee tool, before being duplicated to make two of them.
After moving them into place, I added canvas to make the spine, then coloured it, making it look more effective.
Finally, the horizontal type tool was used to add text to make the crab image look like the front cover if a cookery book.
For a beginner at photo shop, i am quite pleased with my work, even though it could be greatly improved.
