What makes a good photo?

Famous photographers such as Rankin use all the factors above in their photos. He did a front cover of Q magazine, of well-known singer Adele, so this helps me to get ideas for the types of images that I'd like to use.  He uses the use of colour in the eyes, cheeks, nails and lips and makes it look like a snap shot of movement almost by the use of a fan on the her hair.
